Black Friday!

I love the theme to this week's Sisters In Stamping project!  In honor of Black Friday, we made projects featuring the color black.

When I think of Black Friday, I of course think of shopping!  I couldn't resist making this cute little purse:

I used a Sizzix die I've had to create custom purses for customers.  I love how this turned out.

First, I cut out the purse using the Winter Wonderland Specialty Design Series Paper and assembled it.  Then, I pulled out my Dazzling Diamonds Glitter Paper.  I could stare at this paper all day - I LOVE it!  I put a couple drops of Memento Tuxedo Black reinker on a Stamping Sponge and dabbed over an area of the Dazzling Diamonds Glitter Paper.  I set it aside to dry.

After it dried (give it a a long time or you'll end up with very messy fingers!), I cut out the largest Deco Label die and punched out some snowflakes with my Snow Flurry punch.  I then cut out a smaller Deco Label die and punched some more snowflakes on the regular Dazzling Diamonds Glitter Paper.

I adhered the Deco Label pieces together using my Tombow Liquid Glue and set aside to dry.  I adhered the snowflake pieces with the Tombow too.  While they were drying, I wrapped the White
Glitter Ribbon around the purse.  Once they were dry, I popped up the snowflakes using a dimensional.  I then punched a whole on the top of the label and ran the glitter ribbon through it so I could tie a bow.  I put dimensionals on the back on the label piece to adhere to the flap of the purse.

It's hard to tell in the picture, but I put a regular Rhinestone in the middle of the snowflake.  Funny that it looks dull and black in the picture, but in person, it sparkles with the rest of the project.

Christmas Ornament

This week's Sisters In Stamping project is to create a Christmas ornament.

I couldn't wait to use all of my new holiday catalog goodies!

I created this ornament using the Holiday Fancy Foil Designer Vellum, Red Foil Sheets, and Gold Foil Sheets.  I cut out the papers using the Deco Labels Framlits.  The word "Noel" is cut out from the Wreath framelit set.  I also used my new gold glitter ribbon!  The back is exactly the same as the front, so if it moves on the tree, you'll still see it from any angle!  I can't wait to hang it this year.

Thanksgiving Favor

I am truly thankful to continue to be a guest designer for the Sisters In Stamping ladies for two more months.  

This week the Sisters In Stamping decided on making Thanksgiving favors.  I love this idea because you can turn them into place settings on the Thanksgiving table as well!

This is what I chose to make:

I used the new SU! square pillow box thinlit die to make this.  It's very quick and easy to make, especially using the Into The Woods Designer Series Paper.  I used the cut out the little leaves using a cute little thinlit that comes with the pillow box die.  I decided the leaves didn't look good by themselves, so I cut out some acorns from the scrap paper.  The beautiful sentiment is from the Six Saying Hostess set.  I just love it - so beautiful!

Christmas Cards - Never Too Early To Start Making Them!

This week's challenge from the Sisters In Stamping was to create a Christmas card that is easy to reproduce.  Easy cards are not really easy for me!  I tend to add lots of layers, embellishments, and can overdo it easily!

But, I looked at my new supplies and decided to use the Merry Moments designer paper stack to make Christmas trees.  I then used my Perfect Pines framelits to cut them out.  I placed a Deco Label framelit piece behind the trees.  I love this new white glitter ribbon!  I tied a piece behind the Deco Label and tied a knot.

I finished it up by stamping the sentiment.  I did a terrible job; that's why I usually don't stamp directly on the card!  Oh well - I'll be mass producing these as one of my Christmas cards this year, so this one can be my example :)

Itty Bitty Fall Banner

Today's Sisters In Stamping challenge was to make a Fall banner.  I knew I wanted to use the Into The Woods designer paper and the Thankful sentiment from the Six Saying hostess stamp set.  My idea was to get a stick from the woods behind my house to use as the post for the banner, but I was too lazy to go out and find a stick!  So, I used a piece of the designer paper that looks like wood, curled it up, and glued it.  I think it looks like a great stick :)

I used linen thread to tie the banner piece to the "stick" and decided it needed more decoration.  I was going to try to punch art some fall themed items, but it wasn't working out.  So, I grabbed some more designer paper and the butterfly thinlits/framelits.  I love those butterflies!  It isn't a big banner, but it does the job!

Halloween Candy Bar Sliders

Today's Sisters In Stamping challenge was to create a Halloween project.  I decided to make candy bar sliders.  I did this last year for a lot of my coworkers and it was fun and they loved them!  I cheated and used the punch art from a couple weeks ago (cupcake toppers) to help decorate the outside :)  I started with the Happy Haunting designer series paper.  The sentiment is from the Six Sayings Hostess stamp set.  If you haven't made any of these, I encourage you to make them.  They are addictive and so much fun for the recipient!

Tri-fold Card

This week's Sisters In Stamping challenge was to create a fancy fold card.  I keep seeing the tri-fold card and decided to try one.  I couldn't find good directions, so I just created them myself.  I started with a 12 x 12 sheet of Whisper White cardstock.  I then cut one side down to 5 1/2".  I  then scored at 4" and 8".  Once that was done, I angled the cardstock in the paper cutter and cut.  Keep the cut piece as you'll need it if you are adding designer paper, like I did.  Cut the designer paper 12" x 5 1/4".  Then, use the cut diagonal piece to cut the designer paper on the same diagonal.  Once that is done, you can cut the DSP at 3 3/4 - 3 7/8" (depending on your borders).  The middle piece will end up being the back side of the designer paper - that could look cool.  But, if you want the same designer paper, you'll need to use the middle piece to cut out a matching designer paper piece.  Adhere the designer paper and decorate!  It was pretty easy and I'd definitely make more of these.

I just received my huge Stampin' Up! Holiday catalog order and was so excited to sit down and use the products.
