Love to color...

I've had fun this week using my Copics to color in some images I recently bought. I'm still learning on the Copics, but I find coloring so much fun! TFL and have a happy, healthy, and safe New Year!

Cottage Wall DSP and Butterflies

I knew as soon as I saw this paper that it would be one of my favorites this year. I need to order more! I also love the Big Shot butterfly die. The two just go hand in hand for me and I just love them! I think I made about 10 different butterflies yesterday :)

My husband bought me an awesome color printer for Christmas. Once I figure out how to use My Digital Studio, I can print out my scrapbook pages in color as it can handle 12 x 12 paper! But, one of the cool things I can do is to print templates right on to designer paper now. That's just what I did for these two triangular boxes.

They are small boxes, but would hold candies, jewelry, or smallish gifts. I think they are so cute! Email me if you'd like the templates and I can email you the file.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Fluffle Christmas Card

I can't believe Christmas is over :( It seems to have gone too quickly for me. I think one of my New Year's resolutions will be to make at least one Christmas card a month next year. I love my Christmas stamps the most and haven't even used half of them. So, I'm going to resolve to use each and every one (yeah, I know - we'll see!).

I bought a couple new Fluffles stamps and had to use them on my husband's Christmas card. There's another image inside, but I forgot to take the picture before writing in it!

So, this is the last Christmas post of the year... Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Fluffles Christmas Cards

Here are some Christmas cards I made last year with some of my Fluffles stamps. That Fluffles is something else! But, he/she reminds me of my kitties. My cats love to climb around in our Christmas tree and it makes me so angry! But, it is too funny when the ornaments fall and they are under the tree with them looking at me. What's a gal to do but laugh? Thanks for looking and Happy Holidays!

Happy Birthday, Debbie W!

Today is one of my favorite person's birthday! Happy Birthday, Debbie Williams!!! Here is the card I made. I was supposed to get together with her and some other gals today, but it is snowing like crazy! It really is beautiful though.

These stamps from Elzybells. I love the image and the words and knew I'd use them for her card. I used the SU! Tea Party DSP because the colors are perfect for the colors I wanted to use to color in the image. I used SU! markers, cardstock, brads, and ribbons to tie it all together (no pun intended!) :)
Happy Birthday again, Debbie! I hope it is a great day despite the bad weather.

Cardinal in Wreath Card

This image is from a Cat's Pajamas Christmas set and I think it is so pretty. I should have colored the cardinals separately with my SU! markers, but just used my Real Red classic ink. I think it is a really beautiful image.

I wanted to use the Cocoa Specialty DSP because it is just so beautiful. I thought the image would work great with this paper.

I'm looking forward to using more that stamp set and more of that beautiful paper! Thanks for looking and have a great weekend!

Thanks to my Harley Ladies!

I met some of the coolest, nicest ladies at the craft show a couple weeks ago. They were so supportive and I really appreciated it. I ordered a motorcycle stamp and when it arrived, decided to make them a little thank you gift. I altered a little notepad with pen. I figure they can log their Harley miles in it!
I also wanted to send them a Christmas card with matching pillow box filled with some Hershey nuggets. I love this paper and thought it would be a good matching set.
Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Snuggly Kitties

This stamp just makes me smile :) I made Christmas cards the other day and started pulling out all the stamps I've never used. This is one of them. I just think they are so cute - love the kitties! I colored them in with my Copics.
I used the new SU! Cocoa DSP and I love the texture of it! It's really pretty in person and can go with so many colors.
I've had this snowflake ribbon for a while, waiting for just the right card to use it on. I'm happy I found a match :)
Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Winter Wonderland Swap Card

I joined a Winter Wonderland swap this month with my SU! sisters and this is the card I came up with. I used a Mojo Monday sketch (sorry, can't remember which one!) I wish I had used a wider ribbon, but I didn't have the right color at the time. But, I'm still happy with it - the snowmen make me happy and I love the glittery snow! Thanks for looking and have a warm and wonderful evening!

Christmas Treat Boxes

I received a Current, Inc. catalog in the mail and was browsing through it the other day. They had some really cute pyramid shaped Santa treat boxes. Well, I knew I just had to make some! I worked out a template and then decided to make a couple that look like Christmas trees. Having a circle cutter is a must for this project. Otherwise, you end up having to punch all four sides (like one of the samples). That's not a bad thing, but it's a lot more work and window sheets ;) I used different designer papers, punches, and window sheets. I think I'll fill them up with those yummy new Hershey mint truffle kisses! I'm happy to share the template - just send me an email if you'd like it.

Have a great day!

Hark! An Angel Card...

I thought this stamp was so pretty. But, it didn't stamp as well as I'd like. So, I filled it in with my black spica pen and it is all shiny now. I like it! I don't think you can really tell from the picture though :( I think I'll give this one to my mother-in-law since she loves angels. Thanks for looking and have a great day!

From a Workshop Card

Hello everyone! I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I was so happy to have the day to stamp while listening to Christmas music (two of my favorite things!) I need to make Christmas cards, so jumped right in today.

About a month ago, I was lucky enough to attend one of my sister's Stamp-a-Stack workshops while visiting for my niece's birthday. We made this Christmas Tree Card (click here for more information on my sister's blog). I looked at the cut pieces from the scallop circle and just started playing around. I found that you can make a wreath with the leftover pieces! I connected them, glued them, and borrowed ribbon to make bows. I made a couple at the workshop and didn't have time to do anything with them until today.

I broke out all of my Christmas papers and looked for matching colors. This is what I came up with for one Christmas card. It is simple, but I like it. I hope you will too!

Remember, don't throw away the leftovers - you never know what can be created! Have a great weekend :)

2009 Thanksgiving Place Cards

Well, I decided to just go ahead and make some place cards for Thanksgiving. So, I broke out some Fall themed sets and this is what I came up with. First, I used a retired set (Fall Whimsy) and made a one sheet wonder. I used mostly new In-colors, but did use the retired Forest Foliage for one of the leaf stamps. I'm still sad that one retired. Anyway, I also used the Color Spritzer tool to add some color where there was too much white showing. I then started layering and used the new Mini Note kit stamp, where I'll write in the names. The Dusty Durango ribbon was a last minute addition :) Here are the two items that will be placed on each person's plate on Thanksgiving Day. It was a lot of work, but I think they'll be appreciated :) Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Thanksgiving Place Card Treat Box

Good morning! I like to make place cards for Thanksgiving. I decided to make a little treat box as well. I used the Big Shot envelope die with some old DSP (Four Seasons). I love that little turkey stamp. Instead of using the "Give Thanks" from that Gobble, Gobble stamp, I used the "Happy Thanksgiving" stamp from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set.

I think I'll print out names on the computer and place the names across the back. We'll see. I'm still debating about where to put the names... Anyway, I will place these on the plates and hope everyone likes them. I had fun with them :) Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Poor Penguin...

Hi everyone! I finally had a chance to stamp today and it was great! I have to share my fiasco from last week. I signed up for a winter themed swap and decided to use the penguin from the Cold and Cuddly set. So, I colored the little guy in with my markers and stamped out a bunch. I love Crystal Effects and thought how cool it would be to use on the iceberg and the penguin, to add a little dimension. WELL, that was *not* a good idea! Look what happened! I had to throw away a ton of these messed up penguins. I felt so bad and what a waste of time! Thank goodness I didn't CE all of them. So, I did use one of them to make this card. I don't love it, but I do love the CE and Dazzling Diamonds on the iceberg - it's so shimmery! Anyway, it was good to put that mess behind me. I ended up designing a totally different card for the swap, but can't share that one until they are swapped out on the 30th of this month. I'll post it then :) Thanks for looking!

A labor of love...

Since the weather has turned, I've started craving comfort foods :) I've never made Brunswick stew before and found this recipe that looked so good! I started it on Monday, cooking the chicken all day while at work. Then, I did the same with the pork on Tuesday. Yesterday, I put it all together and cooked it all day. It was so nice to come home from a long day and have this ready. It was very tasty. I have to admit that I cheated and used KC Masterpiece BBQ sauce instead of making the recipe's sauce. It made a huge amount and I was able to give my friend some yesterday, we ate it for dinner last night, I have some leftover in the fridge, and I've frozen two large containers full! Just had to share this - hope you'll try it and like it too!

Have a great day!

Kitty Pages

I finally had a chance to install MDS and play a little with it. I love it! I had to make a kitty page for each of my little fuzzies. I can't wait to play more with it.
Have a great day!

Happy Name Day, Dimitrios!

Today, is my husband's (and probably half of Greece!) Name Day. He is named after St. Dimitrios. There is some really good information on Name Days here, if you are interested.

We went to Dimitrios' parents' last night to celebrate his and his father's Name Day. These are the cards I made. The penguin is for my husband and the cat for my Father-in-Law. It was hard not to put a bunch of ribbon or bows on the cards, since that is my style, but the buttons and the punches really helped. Thanks goodness for the DSP too ;)

Thanks for looking and have a great rest of the day!

DDC Masculine Get Well Card

As I've already posted, Michelle and I swapped images when the new SU! catty came out. She sent me some really cute (and embossed!) images from the Lots of Bots stamp set. It is a really, really cute set and when I saw the DDC challenge was masculine, I knew I'd use the images she sent. (Thanks Michelle!!!!)

It was really a tough challenge for me in that we weren't allowed to use ribbon! haaaaa

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

DDC Bev's 9/29 Sketch Challenge

I love Beverly's sketch challenges (shout out to Beverly!) If you haven't tried one, you need to check them out. She's beestamper on Splitcoast Stampers and you can see her blog here.

When I saw the sketch design, Baroque Motifs immediately came to mind. I also thought of my window sheets with the flourish on it, but it has the word "thanks" on it. So, I decided not to try to incorporate that one. Anyway, I love the color Rose Red and I think it worked out well for this challenge. It's very feminine and fun :)

Thanks for looking - hope you have a great day!

DDC 9/8 Button Card

I was finally able to play along with some of the Double Dog Dare challenges from Splitcoast last week. Here is my Button challenge card. I bought this retired snowman set a while ago, but hadn't had the chance to use him. I think he's super cute! I would have used more buttons, but thought it would be too many if I squeezed any more on the card ;) TFL and have a great day!

More Cicle Circus Bookmark Cards

Since I had more of the In Color Circle Circus One Sheet Wonder left, I decided to make some more bookmark cards using the other In Colors. I've decided that Razzleberry is my favorite! Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Circle Circus One Sheet Wonder/Bookmark Card

My friend Michelle (Hi Michelle!) and I traded stamped images of some of the new SU! catalog hostess and other stamp sets a couple months ago. She asked for some one sheet wonders stamped with the new In Colors using the Circle Circus set. I stamped one for myself and was going to make the bookmark cards (for the swap) using this sheet. I like the card, but for some reason, went with the Christmas paper/colors and different design. I do like this one and think I'll make some more using each new In Color to have on hand to give to friends at work (I'm in a book club) for birthdays. Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Bookmark Swap Card

I recently joined a bookmark card swap with my SU! sistahs :) You can see all of them posted on my sister's blog here.

I had originally designed another card (which I will post tomorrow), but for some reason, decided on this design instead! I think I'm really in the Christmas kind of spirit for making things. I love this new paper and ribbon!

I'm not sure what is going on with that big "W" watermark! Sorry about that.

Have a great day and read a good book!

Anniversary Trifold

I recently celebrated my 14th wedding anniversary. I have been wanting to try the trifold card and decided that this was the occasion to do it! I took these pictures after I had given the card to my husband, so didn't take pictures of the inside because my sentiments are there and they are only for his eyes ;) I love this retired DSP - cute and great colors! I used an assortment of stamps all over this card and really had fun decorating it. The possibilities for the trifold card are endless! I found the tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers and it was relatively easy. Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Meg's Dog-gone Birthday!

My friend loves dogs and has a birthday coming next week. I wanted to give her an altered pocketbook calendar, like I usually do. This year, I found some with a cover. In years past, I gave her ones that I covered on the outside and she said they got messed up in her purse. So, I think she'll be pleased with this one. I had to make her a doggie card to go with it. Thanks for looking and have a "terruffic" day!

DDC Glam Girl

I love my Inky Antics girlie stamps! I'm a little late posting for last week's Double Dog Dare Challenge (glamorous girls), but better late than never, right? This was a fun challenge! TFL

Stamps: Inky Antics

Accessories: Chocolate ribbon, Spica glitter pens, Copic markers, glitter brads, circle punches, and martini charm

Ornament Card

I love the new Christmas DSP with matching rub-ons and punch! I should have used the rub-on before I put the middle section on this card, but you learn as you go, right?! ;) I used the new Merry and Bright rub-ons, Holiday Lounge DSP, Ornament punch, and Mistletoe ribbon. It's amazing what you can make without even stamping! TFL and have a great day!

5th and Final Sketch - A Blue Elephant!

This final sketch was difficult! I don't usually make square cards and the layers of circles threw me as well! I love the Animal Stories stamp set and matching Tall Tales DSP. So, once I decided to use these, it was fun! I'm such a straight line kind of gal, so the circles were a challenge at first. I do love this paper and the colors; so much fun! TFL

Stamps: Animal Stories

Paper: Tall Tales DSP, Chocolate Chip, Brilliant Blue, So Saffron, Old Olive, Rose Red, and Whisper White

Ink: Brilliant Blue

Accessories: So Saffron Ribbon and CM Circle Cutter
