Happy Birthday, Michael...on Saturday!

My friend Michael's birthday is this Saturday. He went to Hawaii for the first time last year and fell in love with it. I wanted to use the Tropical Party stamp set (sentiment from Birthday Bliss set) and make a masculine card with it. I used the Color Throwdown #102 and TESC122 sketch challenge for this card. I really like how it turned out. The colors are perfect for a masculine card: Marina Mist, Wild Wasabi, and Not Quite Navy. It makes me anxious for my upcoming Maui vacation next month - can't wait!!!

Mahalo for looking and have a great day!

Beautiful Sketches

I really like Gretchen Barron's Inspiration in Action sketches. Check them out here.

I was finally able to get some stamping done tonight, and used this sketch. I also loved the colors from the Stampin' Royalty Challenge #8 (Green Galore, Summer Sun, Only Orange, and Pixie Pink), so incorporated both challenges into this card. I think it makes a cute girl's birthday card. I think my older niece will be getting this one!

I used the Birthday Bliss stamp set. It's such a great set! I find myself reaching for it a lot lately.

Thanks for looking and have a good rest of the week!

Birthday Swap

Our SU! group's monthly swap this time was to do a birthday card. I decided to try and keep it simple and use one color. I use Rose Red DSP and matching paper and the Birthday Bliss stamp. Not much to really say since it was such a simple card! But, I do like it and it'll be an easy one to mail! :)
TFL and have a great day!

Original Card

Here is the card I started for yesterday's challenges. I realized that I was using the wrong rose color half-way through it! Then, to make matter worse, I accidentally dropped my Cocoa ink pad on the card front! Thus, the strip of Chocolate and Rose ribbon! I like the effect though - I don't like a lot of plain space; isn't my style. I had already made the ribbon bow with the button middle, but didn't like it for the other card, so after I made the card with the right colors, I went back to work on this one. I wanted a simple stamped image and decided that with so many birthdays coming in the next couple of months, I would make this a friend's birthday card! So, that's my story and I'm sticking to it ;) TFL and have a great Valentine's Day!
