A Fabulous Building Block Card

Better late than never!  Look at this fabulous building block card my sister, Debbie Naylor, made for the April challenge.  Isn't it beautiful?  Our mother is going to love it!

Debbie modified the instructions to have 3 building blocks inside her card instead of 4.  She's pretty ingenious that way!  I would never have been able to figure that out.  But, I love how she did that and was able to cater this card for Mother's Day!

April Design Challenge Cards

Can you believe it is the end of the month already?  I can't!  This month's challenge sure was a challenge for me!  Ha!  I do really like the look of this card though. 

Look at what an amazing job Michelle did!  She made this amazing birthday card and it couldn't be cuter! 

 I love what she did on the front.  She made a tag pocket!

 Here is the tag pulled out - isn't it cute?  What a great idea.  This card doesn't really lend itself to writing, so the tag is a wonderful idea - you can write on it!

 This is what she did with the building blocks - cute!!!!  I love the lollipops.  Great job, Michelle!

 Here is my card.  Some friends will be getting married in October and their colors are Fall colors.  So, I thought I'd try my hand at a building block wedding card!  I had a hard time with this card.  I couldn't close it and had to ask my sister for help!  She cleverly figured it out.  I just wasn't folding it correctly.  But now, I've got it!

 I love this paper.  I hadn't opened the package until I was going through my Fall designer papers.  This one really stood out.  I think they'll love the colors.  It matches their "Save The Date" card colors!  I didn't want to decorate the front too much and take away from the pretty paper.  But, I did think it needed some hearts, so I punched them out, ran them through embossing folders, and then decided to do one with a sentiment.

 Here is what I did for my building blocks.  I used an old stamp set that is the alphabet and then punched out the letters using the mini heart stamp.  I hope it reads ok!

Happy Birthday, Kelsey!

It's my younger niece's birthday!  She loves hippos, so when I saw this hippo punch art found here, I knew I had to CASE it for her.  I'm not sure I did it justice, but this hippo was made with love and I hope brings a smile to Kelsey's adorable face :)  Happy Birthday, Kelsey!  Love and miss you!

April Design Challenge

Happy Birthday to my Father-In-Law!

Both my Father and Father-In-Law have April birthdays.  So, when we decided to make some cards at work, I knew I needed to make some masculine birthday cards. 

I fell in love with this card by Chat Wszelaki and decided to CASE it.  Here is my version.  I didn't have the same design papers she had, so I improvised with ones I had.  I also decided not to color the image.  I like it as is.  This card is really simple, but I really like it!

I love that you can make this card for male, female, young, or mature, depending on the colors and papers you use!  I thought this DSP pack had some great masculine colors, so designed the card around them.

It's really great what you can create with a little help from some designer paper, punches, and brads!

Happy Birthday Card for Cat Lovers

I made this card for a friend who recently celebrated her birthday.  She has two long-haired orange tabbies that she adores.  I don't know if they spit up hairballs, but this image just cracks me up!  I thought she'd get a kick out of it.

Unfortunately, I forgot to turn off the date-time stamp, so you can't really read the sentiment.  It says, "A fluffy little gift from kitty."

I balled up some multicolored yarn and adhered where the stamped image of a hairball was.  I also used some Crystal Effects on the cat after I colored it in.
