Shaving Cream Mess!

I've been wanting to try the shaving cream technique and thought the ColourQ challenge #20 would be perfect for it. So, I broke out the shaving cream, my reinkers, and got to work. What a mess! I don't know how others make it look so nice, without the streak marks from wiping the cream off. I don't think I'll be doing this technique again anytime soon ;) But, it was fun and I love the colors! I needed something youthful and fun as the focal point, so used a Greetings Earthling image a friend (Hi Michelle!) sent me. I colored it in with markers and started layering on the colors. I got the idea for the ribbon after seeing a girl's pants on Wheel of Fortune one night. She had these cool "ribbons" on her pants that were attached with big buttons. So, I wanted to incoporate that into the card. I also wanted more color, so added the brads. I think this will be my nephew's birthday card next year!

SULD Weekend Sketch Challenge

It was the weekend, so our group took on some more challenges. The sketch challenge this time is from Clean & Simple - Fall To Layout #79. This is a great sketch!

I am in desperate need of birthday cards and love this little hippo. Having accessories that match the paper and stamp colors really helps! It all comes together nicely this way :)

Kitty Sympathy Card

Some friends have a very sick kitty and think the time is coming near. It makes me sad, but I want to have a card ready to send.

I chose to use the Curtain Call Color Challenge (Act 17) and the Mojo Monday week 126 sketch to make the card.

I think they'll really appreciate this when the time comes. Thanks for looking and give your furries a headrub for me!

Framed Art

I don't know why I didn't see the potential of the Decor Elements earlier! Well, now I'm hooked! I love the saying, " Do Good. Be Kind. ", and had to have that one. I didn't read the dimensions when I ordered it and it was much smaller than I thought it would be. But, I realized it could be put on DSP (To The Nines Specialty) and framed (5 x 7). I think it looks good and I've taken it to work to try to hint to people ;) I'll be ordering a larger size and may put it on the wall of my office. But for now, I'll enjoy this little framed one :) Have a great day!

Another Easter Card

I used the SC267 sketch challenge to create this Easter card. I love the little bunny from this new set and knew I wanted to use it. I also love the Tea Party DSP because the colors are so Springy! It was the perfect paper to draw color from for an Easter card. What a cute little bunny, huh? Awww - love it! Thanks for looking!

Felt The Need To Alter!

I had to get back to my true love and alter some things yesterday. I had an idea and worked it out - this clock! I've had this clock for some time. I bought it at Kohl's when it was on sale. I think I meant to put family pictures in it, but decided I'd rather alter it with DSP and hang it in my craft room!

I had a hard time picking which DSP to use. But, I just can't stop loving the Cottage Wall DSP and the butterflies I made with it. So, I cut, glued, and altered! This is the end result. I love it!

Eggcellent Eggs Kit is Really Excellent!

I loved the Inspiration in Action Weekend Sketch Challenge (#119) because I love designer papers and I was thinking this was a great one to use up some of the scraps. Well, when I sat down to start, I started to clean up my work area and was putting away the Eggcellent Eggs Kit and noticed that there are a bunch of really nice rub-ons in the package! So, I decided to make my own designer paper! I used colors that felt Springy to me and went to work creating strips and using the rub-ons. I need to start making Easter cards, so that's what this became! TFL and have a great day!
