Get Whale!

Once again, combining challenges :) This is now one of my favorite new layouts! I believe it is from Splitcoast Stampers and is number SCCSC3. Anyway, yesterday was the new DDC challenge theme and Joan Ervin chose a Get Well card.

I love the Pun Fun set, but have yet to have used it! Well, I was determined to use it for this. Then, I decided to break out last year's Baja Breeze and Pacific Point DSPs and get to work. It worked out great for this layout too.

I hope I don't have to send this to anyone. Stay well! TFL :)

Stamps: Pun Fun
Ink: Pacific Point
Paper: Pacific Point DSP and cardstock, Baja Breeze DPS, and Whisper White
Accessories: PP and BB corduroy buttons, PP ribbon, and Modern Label punch and die

Layered Flower DDC and Anything But A Card

I'm finally caught up on some challenges - yay! I love snow and winter, so I don't mind that we are totally snowed in. I'm getting some good stamping done :)

These two projects qualify for the DDC Challenge (layered flower) and Stampin' Royalty Challenge (#5 Anything But A Card). I love when I can combine two!

I'm having a hard time with the Razzleberry Lemonde paper. I love the colors in it, but I'm finding it hard to use. I thought it would be perfect for a non-stamped project. So, I broke out the paper, the Big Shot, and went to work.

I love the layered flowers, but I can't seem to get mine to look as fluffy as everyone else! I'll keep trying though! Take a look at my sister's project - so beautiful!!!! I don't think she used as many layers, but isn't her flower amazing?

Anyway, thanks for looking and enjoy the snow :)

Paper: Razzleberry Lemonade
Accessories: Big Shot (Box #2 and Bag w/ Scallop), Scallop Circle Punch, Mat Pack, and Rich Razzleberry/Crushed Curry ribbon

DDC Frame Challenge

The 1/26 DDC Challenge was to use a frame. Well, I've had these little favor treat frames from the dollar store for a very long time. I never did anything with them, but decided this was the challenge to break them out!
I took the frame apart, then covered it with designer paper. Then, I had to decide what to actually frame! I just received the Very Thankful set; ordered it because I love this little turtle! He fits perfectly. I used the colors from the paper and finished with some bows. Fun!

Thanks for looking!

Stamps: Very Thankful
Ink: Basic Black
Paper: Thoroughly Moder DSP and Soft Suede
Accessories: Frame from dollar store, Ribbons (Rose Red, Bermuda Bay, and Soft Suede)

RAK for the DDC

My friend Beverly (shout out to ya!) was the DDC hostess 1/19/2010 and came up with a great challenge that I greatly benefited from! It was a non-challenge; simply mail a card to someone not expecting it. Well, I received two cards from two of the DDC Ladies! It was such a pleasant surprise and I'm still giddy from it! Thank you, Anne (aka jdmommy) and Julia (aka artystamper)! You made my days when I opened the cards :)

I made the martian card. I wanted to thank my friend Michelle for the martian images she sent me. So, unbeknownst to her, I stamped a bunch of dog images (she just got a puppy!) and sent to her with the martian card :) I printed the "Thank You, Human" on the computer and printed on cardstock.
Thank you again, DDC Ladies! I love your challenges each Tuesday and have more to post!
Martian Card:
Stamps: Greetings, Earthlings
Ink: Craft Black and Melon Mambo
Paper: Kraft, Melon Mambo, and Bermuda Bay
Accessories: Big Shot Texturz Plates - Backgrounds 1, Scallop Oval Punch, Marvy Scallop Oval Punches, and Ribbon (Soft Suede, Melon Mambo, and Bermuda Bay)

Happy New Year!

Well, it's a new year and I have a new craft resolution! I resolve to do 1 Mojo Monday sketch challenge, 1 DDC challenge, 1 3D project, and 1 Christmas design per month :) Luckily, I had all day to craft, so I am well on my way of making sure I hit my target this month.

This first card satisfies the DDC 12/22 New Year's card challenge and the 12/29 I Rather Be...challenge. No, I'm not a lush, but I would rather be enjoying a nice glass of wine and relaxing than going to work, chores, etc :)

I used the piercing tool and needle to thread the silver cord between the two pieces. It was kind of a pain, but I like the effect.
Thanks for looking and I wish you a very Happy New Year!

Stamps: Girls Night Out (My Favorite Things) and Holiday Wishes (SU!)

Paper: DCWV Glitter, SU! Whisper White, Basic Black, and Brushed Silver

Ink: Memento Black

Accessories: Copic markers, SU! gray tafetta ribbon and silver cord, and piercing tool/needle

DDC Masculine Get Well Card

As I've already posted, Michelle and I swapped images when the new SU! catty came out. She sent me some really cute (and embossed!) images from the Lots of Bots stamp set. It is a really, really cute set and when I saw the DDC challenge was masculine, I knew I'd use the images she sent. (Thanks Michelle!!!!)

It was really a tough challenge for me in that we weren't allowed to use ribbon! haaaaa

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

DDC Bev's 9/29 Sketch Challenge

I love Beverly's sketch challenges (shout out to Beverly!) If you haven't tried one, you need to check them out. She's beestamper on Splitcoast Stampers and you can see her blog here.

When I saw the sketch design, Baroque Motifs immediately came to mind. I also thought of my window sheets with the flourish on it, but it has the word "thanks" on it. So, I decided not to try to incorporate that one. Anyway, I love the color Rose Red and I think it worked out well for this challenge. It's very feminine and fun :)

Thanks for looking - hope you have a great day!

DDC 9/8 Button Card

I was finally able to play along with some of the Double Dog Dare challenges from Splitcoast last week. Here is my Button challenge card. I bought this retired snowman set a while ago, but hadn't had the chance to use him. I think he's super cute! I would have used more buttons, but thought it would be too many if I squeezed any more on the card ;) TFL and have a great day!
