Fun In The Sun!

Debbie N (sister), Debbie W (friend), and I attended the Chantilly, VA scrapbooking convention this weekend. Wow, was that fun! I met Dave, the founder of Muddpuddles (Hi Dave!) and he was a lot of fun. His "sand in a jar" is amazing and the possible uses are endless! He's come out with a ton of new colors and styles. Please check out his site and order some for yourself: http://www.muddpuddles.net/

I bought this new set called Beach Fun (by Clear Stamps) and had to use it with my new Malibu sand (Muddpuddles). I decided to put puffy white clouds in the sky using the Snow sand (Muddpuddles). I first stamped the images on Sierra Sand cardstock, then stamped the images again on Blush Blossom cardstock and colored in the images using my SU! markers. I then cut out the ladies and umbrella tops and adhered them with dimensionals. I stamped "Fun in the Sun!" on a piece of clear window sheet with StazOn and adhered with more Malibu sand.

This card makes me want to take off to the beach and be one of the ladies sitting in the sand, looking out over the ocean, and enjoying life!

Thanks for stopping by and I wish you all Fun in the Sun!

All That Razz!

Again, I used another set my sister brought up to play with. This one is the Razzle Dazzle set and it is so pretty! I stamped the main image on my Spectrum pad. Then, I pulled colors from that image and built the card from there. I used the new Melon Mambo as the background and Only Orange to frame the main image. I thought it was Pumpkin Pie, so used the pumpkin pie ribbon and brad! LOL I used the words from the Wings of Friendship set. TFL and have a great day!

Wings of Friendship Card

My sister (and upline!) is here this weekend. Since I pre-ordered a different Hostess set, she brought up her Wings of Friendship set so I could play with it. I knew I wanted a blue bird and Ballet Blue seemed the perfect color. So, I used my color coach to figure out what colors would look best. I used to not believe in the color coach, but I've since used it often! This is a very cute and versatile set. I need to do more with it, but this is something I did quickly. I colored in the image with my markers. I distressed all of the images as I thought it matched the image and reminded me of a painting. Anyway, it was my attempt of making a card look a little like a painting on an easel. Thanks for looking and have a great weekend!

Simply Krafty Swap!

This month's swap was very krafty (great one Michelle!). We were allowed to do anything we wanted as long as we used kraft paper and SU! only products. I've fallen in love with the basket die for the Big Shot. Not only does it allow you to cut out the cute little baskets, but there are also flowers and a tag on the same die! I first ran my kraft paper through the Big Shot on one of the textured plates. Then, I ran it through the basket die. I used different colored scraps for the flower tag. I really enjoyed making these. Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Tea Party Purse

I was totally inspired by this purse (by Kathy Orta). I used SU's Tea Party DSP, Pink Pirouette Ribbon, Pretty in Pink cardstock, Crystal and Flower brads, and some chipboard pieces. To get the hardware look from the chipboard pieces, I used the Silver ink and embossed. I did it twice to get a smoother look. I should have sanded down the pieces before I embossed though. This purse could hold a lot of cards and would make an excellent gift. TFL!

Name Frames

This weekend, I decided to make two of my friends name frames. They saw the one in my craft room and liked it, so I thought it would be a nice little gift for them. I'm using two of my favorite DSPs that will be retiring :( Anyway, thanks for stopping by and looking!

Double Dog Challenge!

Well, I've finally taken the plunge and did one of the SCS challenges. My friend Beverly (aka beestamper) designed this Double Dog Challenge and challenged us to play along.

I've been wanting to dig into my new sneak peak items. So, I decided to try my hand at this challenge. Having a sketch makes it so much easier! Why didn't I do this before????

I hope you'll try this one too! Here is the challenge! Here's the sketch and here is my card. TFL and have a good day - hope it isn't storming in your area like it is here!

Celebrate U

I have a lot to celebrate! One of my staff will close on his first condo tomorrow. So, we'll have a little breakfast party for him on Wednesday. My nieces and nephew all won awards at school this year. So, I wanted to make everyone a celebratory card. I used this retired set (All About U) which I love. I had scraps of DSP waiting to be used, so it was easy to decide what colors to use. I hope you all have lots to celebrate and have a great week! TFL

Sympathy Cards

Unfortunately, I seem to be sending a lot of sympathy cards lately. I thought I would make a couple in hopes that I wouldn't have to send them. I really love the set Thoughts & Prayers. I've seen so many beautiful cards made with them.

Hope you have a good day and a good week!
