Regina made another spotlight card! Look how simple, yet elegant this card is! I really like the colors on this card - not too much, but the spotlighted area really pops!
I really like this technique. If you don't like coloring a lot, this is perfect for you! I just think this technique lends itself to really cute and beautiful cards. I will definitely be doing more of them in the future. I learned a lot from seeing Regina's and Michelle's cards! For more information about this card, please visit Regina's blog here:
Regina, this card is stunning. I can't decide which one I like best! Thank you for joining us with two cards!
Thank you for looking and have a great day!

March Challenge Cards
Happy Spring, Everyone! It was finally a beautiful Spring day today. I hope you were all out enjoying it :)
Let's get to the cards! Here was the challenge:
Let's get to the cards! Here was the challenge:
First up is Regina's card. I love how she did this! I didn't realize you could achieve the spotlight effect by coloring the "spotlighted" image a shade lighter. I LOVE this card! It's perfect for Spring and the area Regina concentrated on for the spotlight is so cute! Thank you for joining us, Regina. You always make beautiful cards and inspire me! Please check out more of Regina's wonderful creations on her blog here.
Next up is Michelle's card. Again, what a great Spring card! The colors are so much fun and I love that Michelle chose to spotlight two areas! Again, I didn't realize you could spotlight an area using a different color other than black. I learned a lot through this challenge! The texture, the colors, the flowers and pearls...so much greatness in this card, Michelle! I love it!
And here is my card. A neighbor just had a baby, so it was perfect for me to break out my jumbo wheel and create this card. When I saw the elephant, I knew I wanted to spotlight it! I love this technique because you don't have to color too much, but I think it makes a really nice card that's totally different from the usual cards.
I know I have one more card coming to post and maybe even two! I promise to post them as soon as I get them. Thank you for looking and have a great weekend!

February Challenge Cards
I can't believe it is already the last Saturday of February! I thought I had one more week...
Here are the February challenge cards. I want to send a special "thank you" to Debbie and Regina for creating along with Michelle and me. We really appreciate and love your work!
Let's see the challenge:
Here are the February challenge cards. I want to send a special "thank you" to Debbie and Regina for creating along with Michelle and me. We really appreciate and love your work!
Let's see the challenge:
Up first - Debbie Naylor's card! She made such a pretty card for this design challenge. I love the stamped images - so pretty! I also like that she framed the stamped insert and used some of those pretty pearls on the flowers. I just think this card is so sweet and would be such a delight to receive! To read more about this card and to check out Debbie's other fantastic creations, please visit her blog here:
Next is Regina's card. I just love everything about this card. I love the speckled back, the textured center and strip, the bling, the stitched edging, and the white wispy areas - not sure what that is, but I like it! I also love how Regina has displayed her card here, on the ink pads. Great card, Regina - love it! To see more of Regina's beautiful creations, please visit her blog here:
Here is Michelle's card. Isn't this adorable? I love the textured clouds behind the onesies - I have to get that folder! She cut out all of those onesies, after coloring them, and has them "hanging" on the line. I just think this is such a cute, cute card. I'm sure the recipient of this card is going to really love it! So, so cute, Michelle!
Here is my card. I just love these cute little cats. I thought it was a great sketch for Valentine's Day, so that's what I made! The pink and red colors were easy enough, but the saffron and celery threw me off a little. But, when I saw this stamp, I knew I'd color the cats in saffron. I thought it would be good to frame the image using celery since that leaf couldn't be the only celery on the card! I wish I had used a textured embossing folder for the pink background instead of stamping in, but hindsight is always 20/20, right? LOL
Thanks for looking! Hope you all have a wonderful rest of the weekend. See you next weekend with March's challenge. Please join us!

A Day Late, But These Did Not Come Up Short!
Happy Sunday! I'm sorry I slipped and forgot to post the challenge cards yesterday. Somehow I keep thinking we have another Saturday before the end of the month. I can't wrap my head around the fact that this week is the last week of January! I was hoping 2013 would be a little slower than last year, but I guess it'll be moving just as fast!
Well, enough jibber jabber! Let's get to the cards. Here's the challenge:
Once again, thank you Debbie and Regina for joining Michelle and me in our monthly challenge. We really enjoy seeing your beautiful creations. Please join us next month for our February challenge!
Have a wonderful day and thanks for looking!
Well, enough jibber jabber! Let's get to the cards. Here's the challenge:
First up is Michelle's card. Isn't this pretty? Michelle used the whole set and stamped used Primrose Petals, Raspberry Ripple and Summer Starfruit as her colors. I love how she used the rhinestones in the middle of the one flower to really make it pop! What a cute card this is :) To view more of Michelle's wonderful creations, please visit her blog here.
Next up is my card. I first decided on a former sketch challenge and landed on Sept. 2012's sketch. Then, I decided to choose some colors. I really like Marina Mist and Regal Rose together. So, I used my markers to color in the stamp and then put it to paper. I like the way it looks. I did it on the small background stamp too. I then decided to use my new designer builder brads, but wasn't sure which punch to use for the middle section. I ended up using my owl punch to get the right size circle. Owl well, it worked! LOL
Here we have Debbie Naylor's card. Isn't this a happy card? I love it! The colors are so bright and cheery. Debbie used the new Sycamore Street DSP (which I love and can't wait to use!) and drew colors from it. Debbie used a lot of new products on this card. I love the textured Tangerine Tango section. I also love the huge rhinestone in the middle of the flower. To read more about all Debbie did on this amazing card, please check our her blog here:
And last, but not least, is Regina's beautiful card. Regina did an amazing job in this challenge. Her card is simple, yet elegant. Regina used the First Edition Specialty DSP and new filter papers. She stamped on the filters and layered it over the DSP strip. Her flower is also stamped on the filter paper and punched out with a matching card stock punch behind it. The little pearls on the flower finish off the flower beautifully. I love this card! To see more of Regina's beautiful creations, please check out her blog here:
Once again, thank you Debbie and Regina for joining Michelle and me in our monthly challenge. We really enjoy seeing your beautiful creations. Please join us next month for our February challenge!
Have a wonderful day and thanks for looking!
