National Bubble Wrap Day!

Who knew?

So, grab a piece of bubble wrap and give in to your guilty pleasure of popping those little bubbles :)

I created this card to celebrate the day.  I wrapped a piece of bubble wrap around a large, clear stamping block and taped the ends down.  I then inked up the bubble wrap using Dapper Denim ink and stamped on the background piece of Very Vanilla cardstock.  I then stamped my sentiment, cut it and the larger scalloped circle using my framelit dies, added some matching embellishments, and adhered.  It was very easy and a lot of fun.  I like the texture the bubble wrap gives the background.

Anyway, thanks for looking and have a bubblelicious day!

Happy Year of the Rooster!

It's Chinese New Year - Happy New Year!  This year is the Year of the Rooster.  I wish you all a very happy year!

Here are the cards I made:

I heat embossed some gold embossing powder over a swirly stamped image using Versa Mark.  I also did the same for the sentiment.  For the rooster stamp, I heat embossed clear embossing powder and used Black Craft Ink.  I then used my colored Zig Stella Wink markers to color in the image.  It looks really cool up close but not sure if you can see the shininess in the pictures here.  I used some square framelits to die cut the stamped image and other cardstock.

Thanks for looking!

Sweet Treat!

Valentine's Day is only a couple weeks away.  So, the Sisters In Stamping wanted to show some love with some V-Day treats.

This is mine:

I found these cute little wooden "bags" at the craft store.  I covered them with the new Sending Love Designer Series Stack paper.  Then, I stamped my sentiment from the Designer Tin of Cards stamp set, but it out using the Sweet & Sassy Framelits, cut out another heart using the framelits and Real Red cardstock.  I adhered the stamped heart to the larger heart and punched a whole on one side to feed the ribbon through.  The ribbon is the Sending Love ribbons.  I then filled the bag with Valentine Hershey Kisses and some adorable heart shaped lollipops.  Sweet treat, right? :)

Check out the other V-Day treats here.

Thanks for looking and have a great day and weekend!

It's National Pie Day

It's National Pie Day - celebrate by having a scrumptious piece of pie today!

I decided to celebrate in a way that won't hurt my waste line ;)

I made this card that I think would be perfect the next time I get a new neighbor and decide to meet them with this card and a pie.

I used some of my punches to make the "pie" and oven mitt.  I meant to use a different sentiment, but this one works too!

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

National Squirrel Appreciation Day!

Can you believe that there is actually a National Squirrel Appreciation Day?  Well, today is it!  I used to love squirrels.  But, they have destroyed so many of my bird feeders and eat most of the bird seed, I no longer love them :(  I've counted 6 of them on my feeders at one time!  Well, unbeknownst to them, I'm going to try something to deter them - heh, heh, heh...  I saw on Facebook a video someone posted and sent to me where the clever person put a slinky on the shepherd's crook holding their bird feeder.  Genius!!!  I'm going to be trying that on Sunday :)

But, I'll give them their day and celebrate with this card I made:

I went a little crazy with layers, but I wanted to use my new dies my friend got me.  I love the edging these dies give!

I did color the tree and bird images in with markers so I could use different colors on the stamps.  I popped up the die cut squirrels too.

Thanks for looking and if you see a squirrel today, show them a little love and maybe leave them some peanuts :)

Have a great day!

New SU! Occasions Catalog!

TGIF!  Hope everyone has had a very nice week and has nice plans for a good weekend!

SU!'s 2017 Occasions Catalog is out and I just received my order :)  Great timing too because this week's Sisters In Stamping theme is to create something from the catalog.  Head on over to the blog to check out the other projects this week!

I fell in love with the Birthday Blast stamps set and matching die.  I had to have them!  I also really liked the Urban Underground DSP and Embellishments.  They are perfect for masculine projects.  I actually bought a lot of things from the new catalog, but I'll get to those things later :)

For this week's card, I wanted to make some masculine birthday cards because I have a lot of men's birthdays coming!

Here they are.  I ended up making two of similar designs.  I didn't know which of the DSP sheets I'd like, so I cut several :)

I really like this first one - both papers are from the Urban Underground DSP set.  I like the visual texture of the die cut sheet.  I love the matching embellishments too - they look like screws and seem to match the background paper.  I stamped the sentiment and framed banner from the Thoughtful Banners stamp set and punched it and the framed banner piece using the matching Duet Banner Punch.

The second card needed a solid background because the die cut piece is pretty busy.  But, I still really like it - that paper is great!  I used the stars from the Urban Underground embellishment pack.  These cards came together pretty quickly.  Love matching things; makes it so much easier!

Well, thanks for looking and have a wonderful weekend!

Say "Cheese!"

Today is National Cheese Lover's Day!  Who doesn't love cheese?  Actually, I have a couple friends that don't and I can't understand it!

I made a similar card to this new one a few years ago, but this time I decided to add some more stamped images and words.  I love this little mouse stamp!  I'm going to use this card as a Valentine's card next month :)

I used several sized circle punches to create the holes in a piece of Crushed Curry cardstock.  I then used a sponge and some Curry ink to deepen the coloring of the "cheese".  I then adhered the piece to a piece of White cardstock and stamped the defferent images/sentiments.  I tied some ribbon and added the heart jewels.  If I had to do over, I would have used some dimensionals to pop up the cheese piece.  Next time!

Thanks for looking and enjoy some cheese today!

A Winter Themed Thank You

The Sisters In Stamping chose a Winter Thank You theme this week.  It's great timing as I need to thank some people!  This was a quick and easy card and I love that!

As soon as I saw the theme, I knew what I wanted to do.  I love this set (Flurry of Wishes).  There is a matching punch for it too (Snow Flurry Punch), but I didn't use it this time.

I stamped the snowflakes in Marina Mist on Shimmery White cardstock (yes, I LOVE this cardstock!)  I then stamped the "thank you" sentiment (from the Tin of Cards stamp set) using Memento Tuxedo Black.   I then layered the stamped piece on to a piece of Marina Mist cardstock.  The last thing I did was to tie a double bow from the Silver 1/8" ribbon and adhered it with a tiny amount of glue.

That's it - easy as that!

Sled on over to the Sisters In Stamping blog to check out what the other ladies created here!

Thanks for looking and have a wonderful day!

Rubber Ducky, You're The One!

Tomorrow, January 13, is National Rubber Ducky Day!  Who knew there even was such a thing?

Well, I just had to join the fun!

I created this card to celebrate.  Enjoy and thanks for looking!

I used a framelit die package to create this quick and easy card.  I decided to use Pool Party cardstock and matching Designer Paper.  I then stamped 4 rubber duckies and die cut them out from Crushed Curry cardstock.  I used dimensionals to pop up one ducky on another to give a little depth to them.  I adhered a little black rhinestone for the eyes.   I found a little heart embellishment I've had for years and decided to use it in the middle square.  I finished  the card off with a little matching ribbon.  That's it - easy and fun!

Happy Birthday To All The Snow Babies!

Happy New Year!  I hope everyone is enjoying a safe and healthy new year so far.

This week's Sisters In Stamping theme is "Birthday".

I know a lot people with early January birthdays.  So, for all of you, this card is for you!  I definitely want to give a shout out to my Sisters In Stamping friend Rachel as it is her actual birthday today!  Happy Birthday, Rachel!!!!

I love this little stamp and the matching punch (Cookie Cutter Christmas).  Isn't it cute?  I colored in the winter girl image with my markers (Crumb Cake and Dapper Denim).  I also used some Blushing Bride on her cheeks.  After I colored in my little snow girl, I used some pearlescent paint around the hood, cuffs, and edge of shirt.

I don't think you can tell, but I used Shimmery White paper for the igloo and background cardstock.  To make the igloo, I first used my Simply Scored Tool to mimic the ice "bricks".  Then, I used my Layering Circle Framelits to cut out the igloo.  Next, I adhered a thin layer of glue on the scored lines and outline of the igloo and poured Dazzling Diamonds all over.  I knocked off the unstuck DD and let it set/dry.

The "Happy Birthday" sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set and I punched it out using the Duet Banner punch.  I punched out the sentiment using the top banner and then punched out the bottom piece using Dapper Denim cardstock.  I layered the Shimmery White cardstock on Dapper Denim and then layered them on Crumb Cake.

I finished the card off by wrapping a piece of Dapper Denim Ruched Ribbon, applying a couple Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the punched sentiment and then used Stampin Dimensionals to pop up each item.  It was a lot of work, but totally worth it because it makes me happy - I love winter!

Please check out what the Sisters In Stamping ladies created for this week's theme here.

Thank you for looking and have a great day!
