A Day Late, But These Did Not Come Up Short!

Happy Sunday!  I'm sorry I slipped and forgot to post the challenge cards yesterday.  Somehow I keep thinking we have another Saturday before the end of the month.  I can't wrap my head around the fact that this week is the last week of January!  I was hoping 2013 would be a little slower than last year, but I guess it'll be moving just as fast!

Well, enough jibber jabber!  Let's get to the cards.  Here's the challenge:
First up is Michelle's card.  Isn't this pretty?  Michelle used the whole set and stamped used Primrose Petals, Raspberry Ripple and Summer Starfruit as her colors.  I love how she used the rhinestones in the middle of the one flower to really make it pop!  What a cute card this is :)  To view more of Michelle's wonderful creations, please visit her blog here.

Next up is my card.  I first decided on a former sketch challenge and landed on Sept. 2012's sketch.  Then, I decided to choose some colors.  I really like Marina Mist and Regal Rose together.  So, I used my markers to color in the stamp and then put it to paper.  I like the way it looks.  I did it on the small background stamp too.  I then decided to use my new designer builder brads, but wasn't sure which punch to use for the middle section.  I ended up using my owl punch to get the right size circle.  Owl well, it worked!  LOL

Here we have Debbie Naylor's card.  Isn't this a happy card?  I love it!  The colors are so bright and cheery.  Debbie used the new Sycamore Street DSP (which I love and can't wait to use!) and drew colors from it.  Debbie used a lot of new products on this card.  I love the textured Tangerine Tango section.  I also love the huge rhinestone in the middle of the flower.  To read more about all Debbie did on this amazing card, please check our her blog here:

And last, but not least, is Regina's beautiful card.  Regina did an amazing job in this challenge.  Her card is simple, yet elegant.  Regina used the First Edition Specialty DSP and new filter papers.  She stamped on the filters and layered it over the DSP strip.  Her flower is also stamped on the filter paper and punched out with a matching card stock punch behind it.  The little pearls on the flower finish off the flower beautifully.  I love this card!  To see more of Regina's beautiful creations, please check out her blog here:

Once again, thank you Debbie and Regina for joining Michelle and me in our monthly challenge.  We really enjoy seeing your beautiful creations.  Please join us next month for our February challenge!

Have a wonderful day and thanks for looking!

December Challenge Cards

Hi - a quick post before I head out the door on Michelle's and my challenge cards!  Here was the challenge:

Michelle made two cards for this challenge.  I did too, but gave the one card away and forgot to take a picture first (DOH!)  Michelle used a lot of things for this card.  She used a couple dies and the matching piercing tools!  I love the way the piercing really makes the image pop, don't you?  What a lovely card!
Next is her second card.  I would never have thought to do this, but I love that she pierced the upper half section of this card.  And, she double pierced it - it's really subtle and beautiful!  I'm going to have to CASE this!
Finally, here is my card.  I decided to really frame the snowman image by first die cutting and then piercing around the cut.  I don't think you can see it well, but I also pierced around the oval sentiment "Merry Christmas".  I love the way the paper piercing looks and this was a great challenge to get our feet wet using our new products!
From Michelle and me, we wish you a very happy holiday season.  Thanks so much for looking and we'll be back next month with the next challenge!

Happy New Year to all!!!!

December Simply Paper Design Challenge

We are closing out the year with a different kind of challenge.  Stampin' Up! came out with a wonderful new paper piercing pack and they also have some wonderful new paper piercing templates.  So, we felt the need to justify having bought them and decided to challenge ourselves with paper piercing!  We hope you'll join us in the fun!

Another Challenge Card

Debbie created another card for the challenge and used the DSP!  Look how awesome this card is!  I love it!  I really appreciate that she made the main focal point the flower made out of the DSP - very cute.  I would never have thought to do that!   :)  To read more about this card, head on over to her blog and show her some love :)

Thanks for looking and feel free to join in on the challenges with us!

November Challenge - Check!

I hope everyone had a very Happy Thanksgiving last week.  It sure was nice to be with family and friends and have some time to relax and craft!  I really enjoyed sitting down and taking a couple days to create again!

Let's get to the challenge - here it is again:

First up is Michelle's awesome card.  Isn't it cute?  I love that she used so many of the different pages of the designer paper.  We both love this paper - it is so great!  Nice job on the framing too, Michelle!  The colored in stamped image is a great one for this challenge.  I like that it is simple, yet makes a bold statement against the papers in the back.  It's just lovely!  To see more of Michelle's creations, please visit her blog here.

Next is my card.  I have been wanting to use this stamp since I bought it last year!  I didn't get a chance to make tags with it, but thought it was perfect for this challenge.  The designer sheet I chose from the pack looks like little Christmas trees to me, so thought it would make a great background for things that would go under the tree!  I colored in the images with my markers to match the colors in the paper.  I also have been wanting to use that luxurious velvet ribbon from last year and finally had a chance - LOL!  It's beautiful and I thought perfect for that open white space that I couldn't leave on the card!

Finally, we have my sister's card.  She made this for me for my recent birthday and I love it!  Isn't that designer paper gorgeous?  It's full of color and beauty and the butterfly she cut out and popped up is such an elegant touch.  I love this card - what a great surprise!  She didn't use the DSP as I don't have a Christmas birthday, but she used the sketch and I just love it!  To see more of Debbie's fantastic cards and projects (she has the best tutorials going right now!), head on over to her blog here.

Well, that's it for another month.  I can't believe we are almost in December!!!!  Have a wonderful week and thanks so much for looking!

November Simply Paper Design Challenge

By this time of year, we are thinking of Christmas cards.  Michelle and I both love the Stampin' Up! designer series paper called "Be of Good Cheer".  So, we decided to incorporate it into our challenge.  Using this sketch and the DSP, design with us!
