Blast From The Past

TGIF!  Happy Friday!!!!!

Today's SIS challenge was to use a favorite retired stamp set.  I have so many that I love, but this one dog set is one that I seem to always use!  I love the images in this stamp set - so cute and great for coloring!  I love this little dog and his bird friend - it just makes me smile every time I see them :)

I really like the white Staz On ink.  I used it to make my clouds.  I stamped the image directly onto the card and then colored with my markers.  I embellished the flowers with little pearls and added grass, cutting the cardstock with those great scissors SU! carries.

Please check out the favorite retired sets and cards the SIS ladies created on their blog here.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Simple Birthday Card

Happy Friday!

Today's Sisters In Stamping challenge was to make a birthday card.  I created this simple card quickly with a few stamps, dies, punches, and embellishments!  It usually takes me hours to create a card, but this one didn't :)

I wanted it to look like a ribbon and that it is truly a card celebrating the birthday recipient, making them feel special.  I hope they'll feel that way when they receive it!

Please hop over to the Sisters In Stamping blog to see the birthday cards the other ladies created!

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Marker to Stamp Technique

TGIF!  Has this been a long week or what?  I think the heat and humidity are getting to me ;)

This week on the Sisters in Stamping blog, the challenge was to make a card using your favorite technique.  I love to color, but sometimes so images don't lend themselves to coloring after you stamp.  But, some are perfect for coloring first!

For my card, I colored the image with my SU! markers, then put it to paper.  I love all of the colors you can get onto a stamp image this way.  The possibilities are endless!

Head on over to the Sisters in Stamping blog to check out what the other ladies did - amazing!

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Teacher Gifts

Today's Sisters In Stamping challenge was to create a teacher gift.  I decided to try my hand at a DVD pen/paper set.  I love that Bohemian paper!

Here is the outside view:
And here is the inside view:

I created a little folder inside, under the calendar.  I think this would make a nice little teacher gift.  It can be thrown in a purse and you don't have to worry about tearing or ripping the paper or losing any important information!

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Pinterest Inspired

Today's Sisters In Stamping challenge was to pick something that inspired us from Pinterest and make our own version.

I bought some Ikea jars years ago and haven't used them up yet.  I saw this on Pinterest (by Nancy Riley - iStamp blog) and decided to make my own.

I used the new Go Wild DSP stack.  I love this stack of designer papers!  They are really beautiful!  I used a brad in the middle with a Crumb Cake candy dot.  I also used Crumb Cake, Basic Black, and White ribbons.

Here's a side view - I filled the jar with Hershey kisses :)

Here's another view.

Thanks for looking!  Have a great day!

Happy Birthday Michael!

Today's Sisters In Stamping challenge was to make a masculine card.  This was great timing because one of my best friend's birthdays was this week!  So, this is the card I made Michael for this challenge :)

I love the silver cardstock and I think it pairs greatly with the silver vellum.  I also love silver brads and think they add just the right masculine touch since I can't use my beloved ribbons :)

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Notecard Holder

Today's challenge over at Sisters In Stamping is to create a notecard holder of some type.  I found one that I liked on Chiaki Haverstick's blog here.

This is what it looks like closed:

It will fit at least 7 sets of notecards and envelopes - a great gift!

Here are just a couple of the cards I made for this holder:

Loved this challenge!  Thanks for looking.
