Parisian Summer Card Box Purse

I've really wanted to try one of these Card Box Purses ever since I saw it on Chiaki Haverstic's site. You can make a really nice set of cards to match the purse. I chose to keep mine simple because I think this paper is so beautiful. But, I was happy that I was able to use a lot of new products I have never used before. On the sides, I punched 1/2" holes, then placed the grommet through the hole and bent the tabs in place with the bone folder. A friend of mine (shout out to Sarah!!!!) swapped ribbons with me and that's how I ended up with that beautiful So Saffron designer ribbon. The catalog picture does not do the ribbon justice. It is absolutely beautiful in person. I'm so glad Sarah got it and swapped some with me because I wouldn't have gotten it otherwise! TFL!

Scratch Pad Holder

This wonderful scratch pad holder is on Connie Stewart's blog. I love it and had to try it. I used my beloved Raspberry Tart paper and used scraps to punch and embellish. It was very easy and makes a cute little gift! I think I'll be keeping this one and taking it to work though. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Mother's Day Card

I've been wanting use my sticky shapes and glitters for a while, but didn't quite know what I would do. I was inspired seeing so many Mother's Day cards on the blogs and decided to make one. I used the 5 petal punch and cut them out on Summer Sun cardstock. I tried using the 1" circle punch on the 2 sided sticky sheets, but it wasn't strong enough to cut through. So, I used my circle cutting system to cut out 1" circles. I dipped the one side of the sticky circle in the chocolate chip glitter. I love this stuff! I then used the leaves from the sticky cuts sweet pack and dipped them in the green glitter. Both glitters are from the Supernova glitter pack. After dipping in glitter, I noticed there was glitter everywhere! I decided to put a layer of crystal effects over the glittered area to see what it would look like after it dried. I am very happy with the results. The bling of the glitter still shines through and the crystal effects allowed me to dust off the excess glitter afterwards! I think I'll be using this technique for a long time. I can't wait to play more with the glitter and CE! Hope you have a great day/evening :) TFL

Happy Birthday Kelsey!

Thursday is my younger niece's 10th birthday. I'm going to pop this card I made her in the mail today. She loves the color yellow and I thought the frog would make her smile. I had colored this image a while ago and when thinking of a card for her last night, this one seemed perfect. I found the DCWV paper in one of my glitter stacks and I thought it would match nicely. I added the orange glitter middles to the flowers on the paper so it would tie in more with the stamped image. I hope the froggie makes you smile too. Have a great day!

Transparent Window Sheet Cards

I love these new transparent window sheets! I had a lot of fun thinking about how to use them today while bored to tears in a training class at work ;) When I look at the dotted sheet, I immediately thought of snow. So, I pulled out my snowman sets and found one from a while ago. I liked the wording from the Trim The Tree set, so decided to use it with this snowman. When I saw the Thank You with the flourish on the sheet, I thought of the Baroque Motif set and thought I'd try to mesh the two. I really had fun with these sheets and am looking forward to designing cards with the other two sheet designs!

Bella Birds Scallop Basket

Sarah (Hi!) asked me to make one of these baskets and I love it!

Thanks to Mary Jo Albright and Jacqueline Bayliff - I saw these 6 sided scallop envelope baskets on their blogs and CASEd. I had a lot of fun and think the baskets are a good size to hold some nice treats.

I used the Bella Birds DSP, Pink Pirouette ribbon, and brads from the Filigree and Flower packs. I think this paper is so beautiful and wish you could get more than two pieces in a pack. I think I'll order more because it is just so feminine and pretty!

Altered Tin in Raspberry Tart!

I love the Raspberry Tart DSP and am going to be so bummed when it retires. I was given a set of hot chocolate for Christmas. I kept the tins and decided I'd try to alter it a little. It is a little awkward since there is a section that sticks out and can not be covered. Plus, I think it could use more embellishments or something , but I'll add more to the next one I alter. That kiwi kiss ribbon is just so beautiful and so easy to work with. I hope SU! comes out with more of this kind of ribbon in next year's In Colors!

Simply Sent Kit Box Altered

Hi everyone! I was finally able to craft some today. I've been holding on to my Simply Sent Card Kit boxes for some time and have wanted to alter the inside to make a little gift of cards and things to go inside. It took some doing and I messed up on the first one, but I think this one turned out as well as I could make it. The inside of the box does not have straight edges, so it was very hard to measure and line things up! I used the SAB designer paper, my Big Shot, ribbons, punches, and some buttons. On the left, I've made a set of 6 cards. On the right, I have a covered composition notebook and behind it, a coaster Post-it note holder. I made a space on the top for an altered pen.

Big Shot Baskets

We made these baskets today too. What a great die cut this one is! The possibilities are endless between SU!s designer paper, buttons, and ribbons!

Scallop Envelope Boxes

Debbie, Sarah, and I got a chance to play with our Big Shots today! What a fun time we had. We collectively created these cute scallop envelope boxes. Then, we used the little basket die and created the little baskets (next post!). I had such a good time and they really helped me jump in and start using the Big Shot! I love you gals!

Cherry Blossoms

My friend, David Hsu, walked down to the Tidal Basin to enjoy the beautiful cherry blossoms. On his way, he took this picture (I asked if I could post). I love that you can see the Washington Monument behind the cherry blossoms. If you have never seen the trees in person at peak time, I urge you to come and visit one year. It is just so beautiful.
